Holiday Fun Family Photo Session

Just before Christmas I had the privilege of having Belin of Belin Rodikli Photography in our home to capture some shots of our recently expanded family of four. She was so sweet and kind as she worked with us and our little ones. Her passion towards photography really came out as she spent hours with us making sure she captured all the perfect images of our family! This was not only our first Christmas with our son but it was also the first Christmas that I could really involve Miss Lace in the holiday festivities. Continue reading

Newborn Photos

A few months ago when our tiny bub was only a week old we had the pleasure of having Austin of Austin Kyle Photography come to our home and snap some pictures of our new babe and our little family. We LOVED the work she did for us with our maternity photos and had to have her again for our newborn photos!

Dating Your Husband

05997CA7-53D4-41DA-9BB6-5B20FC7376FCBefore we had our daughter, my husband and I vowed that one day when we had kids we would be the couple who consistently prioritized and carved out time together alone. We valued and recognized the importance of spending time together by ourselves as a couple, one on one. In both our dating and married life we have always enjoyed finding new restaurants to dine at and travelling to new cities together. We knew we wanted this in our future, children or not and we vowed we would find a balance between it all. We saw some of our friends who had kids who we felt mastered this, taking time for themselves to go for romantic dinners, shipping their kids off to the grandparents to spend nights together alone and going on vacations solo. We would always comment to ourselves how nice that was and how it would be us! This mentality stuck in our heads during our entire pregnancy until July 28, 2015 happened and our little pumpkin entered the world.

Summer Family Photos

IMG_2278

It’s no surprise that I love taking photos of Miss Lace, hence my love for Instagram! I’m sure many other moms can relate in that it seems like we are always the ones behind the camera snapping the shots and therefore are rarely in the photos ourselves. My hubby is a great sport and from time to time we will set aside a few minutes to get some mother and daughter photos in but if he’s behind the camera it means he’s not in our photos either! So it seems like there’s always someone “missing” from our shots.

12 Months Old

FullSizeRender-9612 months… one whole year. Wow how I can’t believe it. I seriously can’t believe it. To say to myself that yesterday was her first birthday doesn’t seem possible. I sit here in complete denial, not knowing how it can be that an entire year has passed since she graced us with her presence in this world. This 12 month update will be the last monthly update that I do for her and to say that I am sad is an understatement. Watching the growth she has made over the past 12 months has been an incredible experience.

11 Months Old

FullSizeRender-84I am surprised that I am even allowing myself to write this update on her actual 11 month birthday. My usual course of practice would be to avoid it completely in hopes that if I do so she won’t actually turn 11 months and I can therefore hold onto this time a little bit longer… But here I am trying to get my thoughts together while I hold back the tears. I seriously can’t believe she’s going to be one in a month! This past month flew by. I’m having a hard time even recalling what has really occurred as it all feels like a blur.

10 Months Old

FullSizeRender 51This past month we took our first plane ride with Miss Lace! She did absolutely incredible. We took the advice of friends and nursed her during take off and this seemed to prove effective. However, while burping her after this nursing session she proceeded to puke her milk up all over mommy. I wasn’t nearly as prepared as I should have been as she hasn’t done this in a very long time. As a new mom, you quickly learn that the smell of fresh milk is quite okay compared to the smell of old milk so I took it with a grain of salt. After I air dried off the rest of the plane ride went seamlessly. She played with toys, enjoyed the multiple television screens, as well as the many interactions with the other people on the plane. The in flight safety demonstration provided her with great entertainment. Continue reading
